Hardware can be touched and seen, wears out over time, and includes input/output and storage devices, whereas software cannot be touched or seen and includes system, programming, and application types. 

Hardware refers to the computer's tangible components or delivery systems that store and run the written instructions provided by the software. The software is the intangible part of the device that lets the user interact with the hardware and command it to perform specific tasks. TechTarget

Hardware are devices that are required to store and execute (or run) the software whilesoftware is a program that enables a computer to perform a specific task.

  • Hardware is physical in nature. Software is logical in nature.
  • Hardware can be touched and can be seen. Software cannot be touched or seen.
  • Hardware will wear out overtime. Software will not wear out overtime

The types of hardware are Input, storage, processing, control, and output devices. The types of software are System software, Programming software, and Application software.
